Random Cool: Nature gets urbanI've been a fan of Portland-based artist Josh Keyes' work for a while. I've always enjoyed the way he combines natural elements with the everyday urban environment to create a completely original world. Living in Vancouver, a city in close proximity to nature, it's not unusual to bump into wildlife going about your daily business. I once witnessed a pair of raccoons obviously waiting at a crosswalk for the light to turn before crossing a busy street and remember thinking that it was something out of one of Josh's paintings. I think what I like most about his work is that he gives us a glimpse into an alternate future where the original tenants of our land have reclaimed it for their own. This week's Frandoms are by David Smith at Engine Digital.
